Coatings

With state-of-the-art facilities located in Sioux City, IA, Alvarado, TX, and Conroe, TX, we are a full service, general galvanizer, aimed at providing steel fabricators with exceptional corrosion protection. We galvanize a wide variety of steel products including utility and telecom structures, bridges and culverts, solar post and platforms, as well as a broad range miscellaneous fabricated steel product.

First and foremost, Sabre Galvanizing Services is dedicated to protecting our environment. As a green facility, our preheaters use waste heat to save energy and reduce C02 emissions. In addition, our facility operates with a negative pressure pretreatment containment room that allows us to capture the acid vapors through a water scrubber to eliminate harmful emissions. The completely enclosed kettle eliminates any danger of zinc splashing and captures the white smoke from our process and filters particle emissions so that no fumes are released into the atmosphere. In addition to providing a standard galvanized finish, we also offer dulled galvanizing to reduce glare and ensure your structure better blends into its surroundings.

Sabre can galvanize most large steel fabrications with safety and ease utilizing  best-in-class galvanizing technology.  We have  a 65’L x 9’W x 11’D galvanizing kettle in Alvarado, 41’L x 5’W x 10’D galvanizing kettle in Conroe, and 60’L X 9’W X 11’D with 25 ton lifting capacity in Sioux City, IA. Our deep kettles provide greater heat sink and eliminate most of the need for “double dipping.”. Additionally, Sabre  employs some of the world’s largest preheating ovens, capable of preheating steel to over 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Preheating the steel prior to hot dip galvanizing provides us with the ability to minimize steel distortion while being energy efficient.

Investing in proper protection that anticipates potential challenges and withstands the test of time means eliminating worries down the road. Below ground protection is achieved by using an advanced polyurethane coating that provides the best barrier to corrosion.

Our two-component polyurethane coating is formulated to provide optimal build and aesthetic properties, and is able to be applied at up to 20 mils in one coat, under optimal environmental conditions.

• 100% solids, solvent and VOC free aromatic polyurethane.
• Use of an aliphatic (UV) top coat to prevent UV degradation is not required
• Single coat application
• Abrasion and impact resistance, reducing the need for field touch-ups

Sabre offers a variety of finishing options to ensure aesthetic appeal, material protection, and structure rejuvenation. All finishing options can be provided in our finishing facilities or out in the field.

Painting
Our painting services offer both aesthetic appeal and corrosion protection, above and below ground. Available in a wide range of colors, above-ground finishes are designed to blend with any environment and engineered for outstanding longevity.

• Direct-to-metal (DTM) polyaspartic coating that can be applied in a single coat
• Can be applied directly to properly prepared steel and galvanized substrates
• Fast-drying properties allow for transport same day as painting
• Can be applied in temperatures as low as 35 degrees F
• Average 6-9D FT, compared to an industry average of 4-6 DFT
• Can be matched to any color

Blasting
Though blasting is a traditional part of the coating preparation process, we offer blasted steel poles for uniform assisted weathering to expedite the natural patina process over weathering steel. Our blasting services utilize a wide range of blast media types depending on your needs.

Metalizing
Our innovation-focused, on-site dulling facility offers you the option of dulled galvanizing for your utility poles. Utilizing a chemical process that simulates approximately 6 months of aging, Sabre’s dulling facility takes a freshly galvanized structure and de-glares, allowing it to better blend in with its surroundings.

Sabre is a one stop shop at both of our galvanizing facilities in Alvarado, TX and in Conroe, TX to provide you with fabricated and galvanized solar posts to build the infrastructure supporting the panels for your solar project. We are able provide steel, fabrication, galvanizing, storage, and freight or break out individual parts to fit your project needs. Sabre has invested in the tooling for most of the different tracker system patterns that are commonly used when bidding a solar project. With our wide range of pattern capabilities and our state of the art galvanizing facilities Sabre is amongst the leaders in providing solar posts on projects from coast to coast.
