Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:
  • Performs fabrication of parts, tools and equipment from verbal and/or drawn concept.
  • Performs diagnosis, testing, disassembly, inspecting, repair and re-assembly of plant equipment or components such as hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic shear, vacuum equipment, roller leveler, cranes, electrical boards and components, etc.
  • Performs skilled trouble shooting and servicing of pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Performs proper replacement and/or adjustment of mechanical clutches, drive trains, etc.
  • Repairs worn parts, straightens and fabricates fixtures (welding, cutting, brazing, and surface hardening applications).
  • Assists other personnel and operators in proper direction of equipment repairs.
  • Performs major and general repairs on all equipment.
  • Records labor and material used on each repair made.
  • Uses lift equipment (cranes, booms, man lifts, cherry picker, etc.) in safe, efficient manner.
  • Reports all abnormal conditions and safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Performs housekeeping and other routine tasks as directed.
  • Works safely, and to follow safe working practices, including lock out/tag out procedures and other safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • 3 years recent industrial maintenance or electrical experience desired
  • Recent experience with equipment fabrication
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced deadline driven environment, while contributing to the success of the team
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Must be able to read and comprehend basic hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural schematics, and be able to convert inches into metric
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use gauging equipment from .001”, dial indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges, etc.

Shipping Auditor, STP

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Audits all materials to be processed for orders
  • Verifies that all correct part numbers and quantity of material matches the pick tickets
  • Ensures that there are no defects in the craftsmanship of the material
  • Ensures that the material conforms to customer requirements for packaging and labeling
  • Photographs all packaged and staged materials prior to shipments
  • Operates forklifts with capacity of up to 6,000 pounds and other equipment such as pneumatic staple/nail gun, banding equipment, stencil machine, digital camera, radial arm saw, chop saw, and shrink wrap machine
  • Contributes to a safe working environment by being responsible for quality, safety, organization, and cleanliness in area of operation

Requirements:
  • 1-3 years recent experience working in a warehouse environment, including experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment

  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions including heat and cold

Quality Manager, CWI

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain systems to establish standards related to Quality Control activities and products, and measures performance against established standards.
  • Plan and direct activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
  • Analyze and write test procedures; maintain documentation of results; and consult with Department Directors and other personnel in resolution of problems.
  • Directs employees engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.
  • Plan and organize daily activities of the QC Inspectors plant wide on all shifts, and assure the tests are performed in acoordance with the Company’s and Customer’s standards and specifications.
  • Effectively communicate and resolve issues arising out of the production processes, as related to quality, across all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain all project related inspection documentation, and monitor adherence to standards and actively checks for accuracy of data received or generated before passing it on.
  • Ensures that the Sabre Industries Quality Manual for Wireless product is properly written and maintained.

3D CAD Technician

Bossier City, LA

Responsibilities:
  • Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms and records
  • Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans
  • Lay out and plan interior room arrangements for buildings using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software
  • Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of required materials

Requirements:

Long Seam Welder

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Performs visual inspection of the entire length of each seam to identify areas requiring repair
  • Reads and interprets drawings and/or computer print out “flatsheets” to determine requirement for 100% penetration welds
  • Grinds and/or air-arc gouges areas as necessary in preparation for welding
  • Uses specified welding processes (FCAW, GMAW, and/or SAW), welds required areas to obtain 100% penetration
  • Reads and interprets applicable specifications and welding codes and procedures to determine preheat requirements. Uses oxy-fuel heating torch to preheat work specified temperature. Uses instruments provided to measure temperature of the material
  • Reads and interprets work orders and daily production schedules. Writes entries on daily production log to show work completed
  • Uses overhead crane to position work in pole-rollers and to move completed poles to designated areas
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
  • Visually inspects his/her work to assure that welds have been completed satisfactorily in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications, and codes
  • Assists and instructs other welders when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity
  • Wears protective equipment including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, leather sleeves, and/or cape, face shield, and welding hood to protect himself from hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potentially harmful condition
  • Inspects end of poles for straightness and squareness of edge cuts. Trims and/or grinds as necessary, in order to leave ends suitable for shipment to customer, or for fit up base plates
  • Uses power drills to drill and/or ream holes in pole sections as required by drawings
  • Welds other products in his or her area using either FCAW or GMAW process
  • Assembles two piece developments
  • Determines amperage and voltage settings, feed rate settings, required weld procedures, weld size and amount of penetration required
  • Grinds and/or cleans seams to ensure the required penetration and necessary UT quality weld
  • Performs daily, weekly, monthly operator preventive maintenance on seam weld machine
  • Adjust amperage, voltage, speed rates, and machine pressures constantly throughout the welding process to compensate for variations from the cutting and bending operations and the material variations

Requirements:
  • Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication and decimals
  • Proficiency in reading complex prints and specifications
  • Must know how to properly use a weld gauge

Finishing Lead

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime, and promote efficiency and uptime Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Must use good judgment, follow instructions and have good problem solving abilities.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task.
  • Train and assess employees competencies in the Skill-Based Pay process.
  • Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs and effectiveness of work.

  • Record number of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets Runs, maneuvers, navigates or drives heavy equipment or mechanized equipment in finishing area, such as forklifts, cranes/overhead cranes, trucks, etc.
  • Inform QA/QC Technician of any quality concerns and inform Maintenance Lead on any and all equipment failures and concerns.
  • Counts, weighs or measures outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.
  • Transports heavy equipment and materials.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, monorails, chains, slings, etc).
  • Inspect all material before galvanizing to insure material meets all Sabre Safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Enforce established housekeeping standards.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.

Requirements:
  • Prior galvanizing and manufacturing experience required
  • Experience using forklifts and cranes required.

  • Must be able to obtain SG Crane/Forklift Certification

Production Control Coordinator

Responsibilities:
  • Schedules with outside vendors and coordinate materials
  • Maintains production schedules for wireless division and continuously monitors progress on daily work schedules to assure that satisfactory progress is being made to meet customer demands.
  • Processes MRP jobs in ERP system
  • Firms up MRP jobs for Arms and Hardware
  • Reviews and updates operations in ERP system
  • Creates purchase orders

Requirements:

Weld Trainee I

Kettle Lead

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, monorails, chains, slings, etc)
  • Inspect all material before galvanizing to insure material meets all Sabre Safety guidelines and procedures
  • Add zinc and other alloys to the kettle as necessary in order to maintain proper levels and proper quality of product
  • Sweep ash from the kettle on a continual basis and store ash in barrels for later use
  • Dross kettle (remove sludge) on a predetermined schedule according to Sabre guidelines
  • Inform QA/QC Technician of any quality concerns and inform Maintenance Lead on any and all equipment failures and concerns
  • Direct and train employees on all safety rules and regulations including proper operation of all lifting equipment and rigging, kettle operation, and the galvanizing process
  • Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime, and promote efficiency and uptime
  • Conduct employee evaluations as directed
  • Communicate all safety concerns or accidents to the Plant Supervisor immediately

Requirements:
  • Produces a quality galvanized product each and every time by following all Sabre guidelines and through proper training
  • Safely performs each and every step of the galvanizing process
  • Minimizes downtime and delays with efficient processing and employee direction
  • Maintains safe and efficient kettle temperatures and kettle zinc levels at all times
  • Maintains proper housekeeping and kettle maintenance
  • Maintains necessary supplies and consumables for proper operation
  • Conduct employee evaluations and initial verbal disciplinary action when necessary
  • Ensures all inspections and finishing of product is completed as directed

Kettle Operator

Responsibilities:

Maintenance Technician

Production Equipment Operator

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Assists machine operators, welders, and other personnel in loading/unloading, transporting raw, in-process, and finished materials throughout the facility
  • Uses 36,000lb forklifts and other heavy equipment such as cranes to move various sizes of steel plates and poles
  • Coordinates incoming and outgoing parts
  • Responsible for ensuring correct parts are issued for jobs ordered and substitutions are recorded
  • Keeps hardware tracking accurate and up to date
  • Communicates with multiple departments regarding hardware status
  • Prepares hardware for distribution according to shipping schedule
  • Moves in-process and finished poles to appropriate area in yard
  • Performs safety routine inspections prior to operating equipment
  • Abides by all Safety Standards and Policies including use of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:
  • At least one year of forklift driving and/or crane/heavy equipment experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read blueprints required
  • Must be able to accurately identify raw material needed to supply to production
  • Basic Math skills

  • Manually positions pole assembly into pole rollers for welding

Welder/Fitter

Responsibilities:
  • Uses the Flux Cored Arc Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts to make a pole assembly for the welder to weld
  • The pole assembly generally consists of a round tube or formed shaft, baseplate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon top, vangs, step lugs, ladder clips, and/or other small parts
  • Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly
  • Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 lbs
  • Read and interpret drawings to assure proper location of various small part attachments
  • Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications
  • Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
  • Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel
  • Uses jigs made at Sabre/Texas for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts
  • Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts
  • Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing
  • Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face
  • Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures by changing tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve
  • Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinder, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded area
  • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing
  • Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, and grinding debris
  • Performs visual inspecting and identifies material discrepancies to assure welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications
  • Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size

Requirements:
  • Recent experience working with Quality Control in a welding/manufacturing environment preferred
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and in all types of weather conditions such as rain, snow, heat, and cold
  • Must possess strong English verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships with co-workers and other internal customers
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced team environment

  • Punch holes in all products that enter the Beam Building
  • Runs, maneuvers, navigates or drives heavy equipment or mechanized equipment in shipping/receiving area, such as forklifts, cranes/overhead cranes, trucks, etc.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Observe and receive information from all relevant sources

Maintenance Technician

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all equipment as required by the equipment supplier and Sabre operating guidelines
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • Fabricate necessary jigs, stands, racks, and specialized equipment, etc. as required
  • Work with and/or supervise specialized contract labor as required
  • Follow all maintenance schedules developed by the Maintenance Lead or the equipment manufacturer without compromise
  • Make recommendations to improve production flow, equipment performance, quality of product, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure machinery, tools, and equipment are in good working order, assists in solving quality problems, perform data collection, monitor processes, and product control as identified.
  • Communicate to the appropriate personnel any unusual operating conditions and/or safety concerns
  • Ensure quality product is being produced at the standard rate while minimizing scrap and downtime
  • Attend all specialized training courses as deemed necessary for equipment and/or repair

Requirements:
  • 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior galvanizing experience preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Effectively and safely utilizes ladders, manlifts, forklifts, overhead cranes, monorails, etc.
  • Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures
  • Must be able to obtain STS Forklift/Crane Certification
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Must be physically able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Capable of working at elevated heights up to 60'
  • Capable of working in hazardous environments such as acid containment areas and high temperature areas
  • Able to perform duties in confined areas wearing all necessary PPE including protective clothing and respirators
